Lift is the second album by Australian singer-songwriter Shannon Noll. It was released by Sony BMG in Australia on 16 October 2005. Noll himself co-wrote eleven out of the thirteen songs in the album. The album debuted at #1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association album chart on 23 October 2005 with a Platinum certification. All four singles released from the album reached the top 10 of the ARIA single chart, and proved to be very popular radio hits, with both "Shine" and "Now I Run" ending 2006 within the top 10 most played songs on Australian radio.

Lift was nominated for Best Pop Release at the 2006 ARIA awards, the first industry voted nomination for any Australian Idol contestant.

Further highlighting the longevity of Lift, the album ended 2005 as the 33rd biggest selling album in Australia and was once again listed as the 22nd biggest selling album in Australia of 2006.

The album was certified three times platinum by ARIA with sales to date of 250,000+.

The Lift album was reissued on 25 September 2006 with a bonus DVD featuring the music video for the four singles released from the album and a 20-minute documentary where Shannon discusses the filming of the music videos and offers his own distinctive commentary during the playback of each video. [edit] Singles

  • "Shine" is the first single from the album released in Australia. When released to radio, praise for the single was high as the song was seen as a departure from the country-tinged rock and balladry of Shannon's debut album, and eventually became Shannon's biggest radio hit to date, featuring in the top 10 most played songs of both 2005 and 2006. The song was written by Canadian songwriter Andy Stochansky who also recorded the song for inclusion on one of his albums. It debuted and peaked at number one on the ARIA Singles chart, and also peaked at number one on the Australian Artists single chart. The track was released digitally in the UK following its use as the theme of UK Channel 5's Summer of Cricket broadcast in mid 2006.
  • "Lift" is the second single released from the album. It debuted at number thirteen during the busy Christmas season and in its third week on the ARIA Singles chart, it rose to and peaked at #10. Although the single was Shannon's lowest charting of his career so far, sales of the single were very strong and the single became Shannon's 6th single to reach gold or platinum sales and also became Shannon's longest running top 100 hit so far. Due to the positive and uplifting theme of the song, it was chosen to become the theme song for the successful Australian edition of the US reality series The Biggest Loser, further increasing the single's popularity.
  • "Now I Run" is the third single released from the album. The song continued the streak of extremely popular releases from Noll. It debuted and peaked at number six on the ARIA Singles chart and was the 9th most played song on Australian radio in 2006. The song was praised by music critics, with influental Australian music reviewer Cameron Adams naming "Now I Run" as one of his top singles of 2006, describing it as "so soaked in raw emotion you can imagine the goose bumps on his arms as he's singing".
  • "Lonely" is the fourth and final single released from the album. The song debuted at number thirteen on the ARIA Singles chart and reached its peak position of number eight the week after release on September 11, 2006. With the release of the single, Noll created Australian ARIA chart history becoming the first artist to have their first 8 single releases reach the top 10 since the charts induction in 1988 (a record which Noll broke himself following the release of his latest single with Natalie Bassingthwaighte "Don't Give Up"). "Lonely" proved to be extremely popular on the high rating 2Day FM "Hot 30" countdown, spending a total of 73 nights in the countdown.
