From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lifewords (formerly the Scripture Gift Mission) is a Christian mission based in London. It distributes Bibles and Christian books and manuscripts, predominantly in the Third World. The distribution and the support of the mission comes about not only through missionary works and Christian parishes, but also through the work of individual people. Currently Scripture Gift Mission operates in over 25 countries. It distributes Bibles in most world languages.

In 1945 the society distributed hundreds of thousands of New Testaments according to the text of the Miniature Bible by Franz Eugen Schlachter to German POWs in English prisons.

In 2004 the society distributed 7 million Bibles. 90% of the distribution was performed outside England.
