Life Genesis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Life Genesis was part of the Microsoft Entertainment Pack. Based on Conway's Game of Life, it allowed players to design opening states and watch their progression, but it also allowed for play against the computer. In this version, the computer's cells were shown in red and the player's in blue. On each turn, the player or computer could add a cell of their own color and delete one of their opponents. All the rules for generation followed Conway's except that new cells' colors were determined by the color of their neighboring cells.
[edit] Rules
Life Genesis has the following three rules regarding cell regeneration:
- A living cell with fewer than two neighbors dies of isolation.
- A living cell with more than three neighbors dies of overcrowding.
- New life is generated in an empty square with exactly three neighbors.
