Life Before Insanity is Gov't Mule's attempt to make a mainstream rock record. For the most part, they are successful and many view this as their best album. "Bad Little Doggie" received a good deal of air play on the radio. There is a hidden track "If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day" which can be found after "In My Life." Unfortunately, Gov't Mule was unable to capitalize on this record because of founding member Allen Woody's death shortly after its release.
