"Life's Ruff" is the twentieth episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3

Luigi travels to Ice Land on Princess Peach's request to confront King Windbag of Ice Land about his bully-esque behavior. King Windbag has been unmistakenly rude to his unnamed servant lately. Meanwhile, Iggy and Lemmy infiltrate King Windbag's castle and steal his wand. They use the wand to turn Luigi and King Windbag into dogs, who chase the two Koopa Kids until they wind up warping to Miami, Florida.

Luigi and King Windbag face a bundle of trouble here, as an aggressive dog catcher is chasing after them. He manages to catch them, sending them to Florida State Poochitentiary, a dog pound. After Luigi gets King Windbag to co-operate, they manage to escape and find out that the Koopa Kids are already at the Kennedy Space Center planning to go into space. The two rush down there, grab the wand, and turn themselves back to normal before warping the Koopalings back to Dark Land.

King Windbag then uses his wand to put the dog catcher to sleep, and briefly turns him into a dog, in hopes that he'll understand dogs better. Finally, Luigi and King Windbag go back to Ice Land. King Windbag, now demonstrating proper manners, makes up to his servant by serving him dinner.

• This is the only episode where Mario does not appear. .
• This is the only episode of Adventures of SMB3 in which a Lakitu appears (he was also in the Super Mario Bros. Super Show episode "Mario and the Red Baron Koopa".
• According to DVDs made by MRA Entertainment, the dog catcher's name is Herman.
