Portal talk:Library and information science/Intro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- I fail to see the relatiopnis there possibly a more specific term than information fields?
The information science page clearly delineates it. The entire WP (btw, in library education circles, "information studies" is now being used to designate the comprehensive field of library science, information science, and related programs sucha as museum studies, and the application of information science to business, etc. for example, UCLA http://is.gseis.ucla.edu/. and Syracuse http://istweb.syr.edu/

[edit] Reversion to peer reviewed version
I've undone some recent edits as they are inconsistent with suggestions/standards laid out in previous portal reviews that I've been a part of. The version that you see now has been supported by three different votes for featured portal candidacy. The info image icon has also been restored as it helps to establish that this is not just a library-related portal, which is necessary given that library science and information science are being treated as separate topics within Wikipedia. - I don't see the realtion between the image and information science, but don't care enough about portals to argue about it here as well. —Ruud 01:18, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for the response. I would accept offers of a more relevant image, since I have no particular affection for that one. I just can't find anything else more appropriate. Any ideas? Planetneutral talk 01:31, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
