librsvg is a Open Source SVG rendering library written by GNOME. It is licensed under the LGPL licence.
Librsvg uses Cairo as primary backend since version 2.13.0.
Librsvg is developed for and used by the GNOME desktop, but it is also included in many other software applications to enable support for SVG-format scalable graphics. It can also be used by MediaWiki to render SVG thumbnails. This is the case for Wikipedia.
