Liberty Bell Park (race track)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Liberty Bell Park was a race track that held harness racing and thoroughbred racing located in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1963 until 1986. The harness track was a 5/8 (.625) mile track, but when thoroughbred racing was made legal in 1968, a one-mile track was built using the homestretch and front of the harness track until Keystone Race Track (now Philadelphia Park) was built in 1974. The Franklin Mills shopping center now stands on the site along with other stores such as Wal-Mart and CompUSA.
