- Liberdade, São Paulo, SP, Brazil. Liberdade (pron. IPA: [libeɾ'dadzi], portuguese for "Freedom") is the name of a district in the borough of Sé, in São Paulo, Brazil. It contains the largest Japanese population (immigrants and descendants) outside of Japan. There are also other ethnic groups (mostly Asian) present in Liberdade, including overseas Chinese (both mainland Chinese and Taiwanese) and Koreans. The district is served by the São Paulo Metro.
- Liberdade, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. With over 600,000 residents, the neighborhood of Liberdade is home of the largest black population in Brazil. Its is the birth place of the Afro-Brazilian group Ilê Aiyê.
