Liberal Party (Spain)

The Liberal Party (Partido Liberal, PL) was a liberal Spanish political party.

It was part of the Democratic Centre Union until 1983, when it federeted itself with the Popular Alliance (AP) and the Democratic Popular Party (PDP). These three parties formed the Popular Coalition for 1986 elections.

In 1989 the party, along with AP and PDP, merged in the new Popular Party (PP).

Esperanza Aguirre, now a leading figure of PP, was a Liberal member.
