Hi. I reverted your delete message on Image:LibertyMotorCar1919.jpg, which you marked as "no image". It certainly displays fine for me. Perhaps there was some momentary glitch when you looked at it? Perhaps you should take a look at it again, and if it still isn't there, try reloading. If you have more problems with it, please let me know. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 08:01, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Liberty Motor Car

Re your comment on User:Evil Monkey's talk page: I can't see the image, with either Firefox 1.0, or Internet Explorer 6.0.2800. It can't be a cache problem, since I haven't fired up IE on this laptop for months. I also tried purging the image page.-gadfium (talk) 08:20, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • I just looked at Image:LibertyMotorCar1919.jpg in seperate browsers, and it displayed successfully in IE, Opera, and a beta of Firefox. Whatever the glitch is or was, I'm not seeing it here. Is the image still missing from you now? Puzzled, -- Infrogmation 16:45, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Very odd. I couldn't see it an hour ago at home with Firefox, but it displays fine with Mozilla 1.6 and Konquerer 3.2.0 on Linux, and Firefox 0.9.3 and 1,0 PR on XP at work. I suspect it isn't a browser issue. At home, I'm in New Zealand and use the ISP ihug. Maybe Evil Monkey uses the same ISP? Now, I'm effectively in California as far as web browsing goes. I can't quite think why this would make a difference, but I'll be careful about deleting images I can't see in future.-gadfium (talk) 21:07, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I'm with Southnet Jetstream and using Firefox 1.0 with Win XP but it shows up when I tried it with IE. This same thing happened to me with another image. I also don't see the image in the article with Firefox but do with IE. Will also have to be careful. The other image I had issues with was Image:Aetobatus narinari.jpg. In this case I can't see the image but can see it in the article with Firefox. Evil MonkeyTalk 21:43, Dec 22, 2004 (UTC)
Found the cause. According to the problem FAQ 1 in 256 images end up on http://www.wikipedia.org/upload/a/ad/. Checked my adblock and found it was blocking */ad/*. I got rid of that block and the image showed up perfectly.Evil MonkeyTalk 22:14, Dec 22, 2004 (UTC)
Thanks, that's probably my problem as well. I'll check the hosts file on my laptop when I get home, and I'll also try from the PDA since that doesn't have the sophistication to do any blocking.-gadfium (talk) 22:20, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Yes, my PDA saw the image fine. On the laptop, my hosts/lmhosts were bog standard, but my Symantec Client Security was blocking it. I created a custom rule for en.wikipedia.org and now all browsers see the image fine.-gadfium (talk) 05:25, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)
