[edit] Help
As this is only my first article can you please point me in the right direction? Chris Callard talk23:48, 5 December 2006
- Hi, sure. It needs to be revised inline with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. There's a lot of good content, but it needs to be toned down to become less of your opinion of his career, for example the opening:
- The story of Liam George (born 2nd February 1979) and his career in football is similar to so many others who have shown the promise as a youngster but failed to make the grade at a later stage.
- is not very encyclopedic. It really needs to just give some brief facts about his career, and this can let the reader make his/her mind up about the player, rather than instantly judging him on your analysis. The article also needs to be verified by giving some references for the biographical information, etc. I would imagine much of this can be found on the internet, and cited using square brackets next to the information, i.e. [1]. With this being an article of a living person, this is particularly important. It's also worth looking at a few of the links I've added to your talkpage for information about editing, etc. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. I've made a few alterations to the page now. Any other points to improve it further? Wellardcallard 14:17, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've made one or two small corrections and put it in a few categories, but this article is fine now. You could have a go at making an infobox, similar to the one on the Robbie Keane page, perhaps. Also, if you know his birthplace, you could always add that to the opening paragraph and then integrate the sections about his family in there. Bob talk 15:10, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
