[edit] History
Liam O'Rourke was born in 1883 in Dublin, Ireland. He grew up to hate the English, and became a terrorist. He joined the Irish Republican Brotherhood. In 1916, he was killed in the Easter Rising and became Immortal. Later on, he met his teacher, Hugh O'Neill and learned about Immortality.
As the years went by, he met a beautiful woman in Ireland named Tara Fitzgerald, who also hated the English. In 1946, after World War II, they befriended Duncan MacLeod, and tried to convince him to join their cause, an offer he refused.
One day, over lunch at the Light Horse Pub, O'Rourke pointed a man out to McLeod and identified him as Allan Roderick, a British commander responsible for killing 2,000 Irish. Fitzgerald suddenly gave Roderick a plain bag, and left the pub with O'Rourke and MacLeod. Moments later, a bomb exploded, killing everyone inside. MacLeod realized what they had done, and turned them in to the police. O'Rourke and Fitzgerald were arrested for terrorism and sentenced to life in prison.
Years later, Fitzgerald died in prison, sending O'Rourke over the edge into a vendetta against MacLeod. In 1998, in Paris, France, he went to MacLeod's barge and kidnapped his lover Amanda, leaving a a coaster from The Light Horse as a calling card. He later kidnapped MacLeod's friend Joe Dawson. MacLeod goes to face O'Rourke, who threatened to kill Amanda and Joe. MacLeod allowed O'Rourke take his head, and asked him to spare Amanda and Joe in the memory of Fitzgerald. Just as O'Rourke was about to execute the killing blow, however, MacLeod's ally Methos burst to save him. Enraged, O'Rourke shot MacLeod, who saw a brief vision of the world without him. MacLeod awakened, and he and Methos massacred O'Rourke's men. The two former friends then faced off in a duel. MacLeod beheaded O'Rourke, for which he was rewarded with his Quickening.
