Liam Ó Maonlaí (born 7 November 1964 in Dublin, Ireland) is a member of the Hothouse Flowers, a band which he formed in 1985 with his schoolmate Fiachna Ó Braonáin. He attended Scoil Lorcáin and Coláiste Eoin, which are Irish medium schools on Dublin's southside. Although, he credits his father as his main influence for his enthusiasm for the Irish language.[1] He has recently released a solo album entitled Rian which is a collection of tunes and songs in Irish Gaelic. He is a fluent speaker of the Irish language. He won an under 18 all-Ireland award for his skills on the Bodhrán^{[citation needed]}. In 1985, he won the Irish music award known as Gradam Shlogadh along with Hothouse Flowers bandamate Fiachna Ó Braonain and Maria Doyle Kennedy in Ennis, County Clare. Liam and Fiachna formed the rock group Hothouse Flowers. Ó Maonlaí is also an active member of the Nuclear Free Future movement and contributed to the hosting of events in Carnsore and in Wexford Town in 2001. In 2004 went to the barefoot college as a guest, which is located at Rajasthan, India. During his trip to India he played at the university in Jaipur along with some of the local musicians.

Liam is the brother of the male actor Colm Ó Maonlaí and the son of the female actor Eithne Lydon.
He sung on the song "The Parting Glass" on the soundtrack in the 1998 film Waking Ned.

Liam sang a version of Rónán Ó Snodaighs song Cathain which is available on the greatest hits album of Dónal Lunny.
