Liakopoulos and the Russians
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page is about the claims of Dimosthenis Liakopoulos about the future diplomatic relations between Greece and Russia. He believes that these two countries sharing the same Religion and a parallel history are bound to ally. Russia will back Greece in a series of campaigns against the Turks who are considered by Liakopoulos "The racial enemies of the Greeks." Through this alliance, Greece will manage to reclaim successfully the territories of the Byzantine Empire. To support this theory he uses arguments based on history, diplomacy, and various prophecies.

[edit] Prophecies
Various Greek monks and saints have often made prophecies supporting the idea that Russia for some reason would aid Greece in a campaign against the Turks. Most known of them are:
- Saint Andreas of Trachoni from Lemesos. Greek Monk from Cyprus. He made his prophecies while Greece was under Turkish occupation. He was promising that the "fair race" (Russians) would free all of the Orthodox Balkan races from the Muslim Ottoman rule. Since then, several Russian campaigns against the Turks took place but none of them brought the expected outcome. Therefore the prophecy is still considered unfulfilled and valid.
- Arsenios Paisios. Greek Monk from Kappadokia. He often prophesied a great Orthodox alliance that would liberate the Balkan nations. He often said: "The strong men of the Earth make plans about the world but God has plans of his own and they will be the ones to prevail."
- Iosif Vatopedinos. Greek Monk. He is quite famous due to his ability to communicate with God(?). He has often assured people that the upper prophecies are still valid.
[edit] Modern Russia
.Dimosthenis Liakopoulos claims to know a lot about the policies and the future movements of modern Russia. This happens because he claims to be familiar with many of the associates and collaborators of Vladimir Putin. However sometimes he seems to even know what Putin is thinking. In his TV show he has once given an explanation for this: “You may ask me 'How do you know so much about Putin? Do you drink coffee every morning together?' Well, I don’t have to! I tell him what to do and he does it!” He apparently said this to make a joke but it was also a successful way to avoid answering the question. Liakopoulos has traveled sometimes in Russia in order to contact Russian scientists but he has never even claimed that he has contacted in any way Vladimir Putin. However he keeps praising him for his political decisions and his dedication to Orthodox Faith. It is most likely that Vladimir Putin as well as many others of the persons he calls "associates" have never heard of him as Liakopoulos is rather unknown to people outside Greece.
[edit] Anna Politkovskaya
Russian journalist. She often criticized Vladimir Putin for his absolute Power over Russia. Many of her arguments are written in her book “Putin’s Russia” which is also published by Dimosthenis Liakopoulos. Liakopoulos uses her book to promote the image of Putin as a powerful ruler of Russia. When Anna was murdered Liakopoulos oppenly attributed her murder to Putin and praised him for "showing who is the boss". The same applies to other people allegedly murdered by Putin like Alexander Litvinenko.
[edit] Russian Technology
Liakopoulos has always claimed that since the Soviet era the Russians possess ultra evolved technology. During his TV-Show he has presented a video which according to his claims dated to the 50's. In the video according to his descriptions one can see a soviet spaceship tracking down a running alien over the surface of Mars. He keeps praising Putin and his government for turning modern Russia into a superpower and for possessing deadly weapons such as the Sukhoi airplane and the Buran spacecraft. He often presents Putin as a fierce "Red Bear" and a continuer of the mighty Soviet regime. Finally he claims that Russians have achieved to create anti-gravity vehicles. To support this theory, in his TV-Show he invited a man identified as Georgios Synnefakis. This man claims to be the Greek leading scientist in the Soviet Anti-Gravity Project. He claims that his designer group in northern Russia managed to make a self-powered floating vehicle known as Cosmosphere. A cosmosphere functions empowered by a battery which is as small as an astray. This battery is self-powered as it is capable of collecting energy from the surrounding space.
[edit] Current Diplomacy
Since the rise of Vladimir Putin, diplomatic relations have dramatically improved. In 2005 Vladimir Putin visited Greece. There he met the Greek prime minister Costas Karamanlis where he told him that "We should synchronize our watches concerning our stance against Turkey". Liakopoulos used this statement to support the claim that the alliance is already formed.
