LGColorAnaglyphSceneMR.jpg (800 × 600 pixel, file size: 163 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
Color anaglyph demonstration image.
View using red (left eye) and cyan (right eye) filters.
Taken using two digital cameras of the same model with an inter-image lens distance of about 40 cm. (16 in.) with full zoom. Cameras were Sony P-71s.
Image produced using digital image manipulation as described in the anaglyph image article.
The apple tree in the left foreground, which slightly projects from the image plane, is about 8 meters (25 feet) from the cameras' position. The large mechanical device to the left of the picture is a Zomeworks passive solar tracker supporting 1.2KW of solar cell panels, one of a pair in this backyard.
The distant foothill ridge is about four miles away and in the above image cannot be discriminated in depth from the mountain (Mount Diablo) behind it. To do so requires a longer baseline distance between the cameras. With a baseline of about 30 feet (10m), used to photograph the image at right, the foothill ridges appear distinctly closer then the mountain but only slightly distinct from each other. To discriminate between the two peaks of the mountain would require a larger separation. The image is narrow as it was difficult to obtain a clear view from this location. With a wider view certain foreground objects would appear each in only one eye's image.
