- 13 March 2007: According to senior aides, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, will not apologize for declaring in a newspaper interview that he considers homosexuality to be immoral and that the US military should not condone immoral conduct by allowing gay men and women to serve openly.
- 11 March 2007: Thousands of protesters gathered in central Rome to show their support for government proposals to grant rights to gay couples. The bill was approved by Italy's cabinet last week but faces a tough battle through the Italian Parliament.
- 5 March 2007: The first US soldier to be injured in the present Iraq conflict, Marine Staff Sgt. Eric Alva, has come out as gay and announced his opposition to the US armed forces' "Don't ask don't tell" policy on homosexuality.
- 2 March 2007: Conservative commentator Ann Coulter has been using the slur faggot to refer to Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards. Since that time she has been publicly denounced by three leading Republican candidates and her column has been dropped by at least three newspapers.
- 27 February 2007: Google have defended their removal of the homophobic blog "killbattyman" from their blogger.com service for breach of their terms and conditions. The blog contained many offensive images and comments and called for the executions of all LGBT people.
