Levi Bellfield

Levi Bellfield, a 38-year-old man from West Drayton, West London, was is charged with the murders of two women and the attempted murders of two other women between 2001 and 2005.

Amelie Delagrange a 22-year-old French exchange student living in South-West London, was crossing a cricket pitch on Twickenham Green on the 19th August 2004 when she was attacked with a hammer or iron bar and left for dead. Her body was found later by a local barman. Her murder sparked a huge publicity campaign, prompting calls from the public about other attacks of a similar nature - and links with another murder.

Marsha McDonnell On the 4th February 2003, 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell was bludgeoned to death in Priory Road, Hampton. The murder achieved a high profile and was soon linked to several other incidents where young, blonde women were hit over the head with heavy, blunt instruments.

All Attacks There have been a number of attacks in South West London which share some similarities, listed below. There is no evidence to connect any of these attacks, other than those with which he has been charged, to Bellfield.:

On 9th June 2006, the suspected serial killer heard his charges for two murders and three attempted murders. He will be tried in April 2007, and the trial is expected to last three months.
