[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The story begins in a high school. Pia (Angel Locsin) is beautiful and wealthy and she is the campus sweetheart that every guy is dreaming of. Eric (Richard Gutierrez) is intelligent and has a good heart but does not have a money to live in comfort and luxury as he is taking care of his kind and loving grandmother who continues to encourage him no matter what difficulty he encounters and has always had been concerned about his future. Because of this, he works as the school's janitor where he admires the Pia from afar who on the other hand is somewhat weak-willed. Although they belong to the extremes of social classes, Pia and Eric cross their paths cross when they share the same seat in class - Eric during the night (as part of his schloarship program classes) and Pia during the day. Are they destined to be with each other because of this sign? Or does fate playing a trick on them?

[edit] Box office success

Let The Love Begin raked in a grand total of Php 120,382,426 in the Philippine box-office. Ironically the film pitted GMA Films in confrontation with Star Cinema (the film outfit of rival network ABS-CBN), which released the romantic comedy Dreamboy (starring ABS-CBN's signature actors Piolo Pascual and Bea Alonzo).

Majority of moviegoers sided with Let The Love Begin as its theatrical "rival" Dreamboy grossed only Php 22,019,005. As a result, Star Cinema lost money with the film despite its massive marketing efforts and featuring its most popular stars. GMA Films on the other hand enjoyed the massive profits they gained from their blockbuster.

[edit] Trivia

  • Most of the classroom scenes were filmed at Lyceum of the Philippines University.
  • Epson and McDonald's are the major sponsors of the film, obviously shown in many scenes.
  • The airport scene was shot in Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark Airbase, located in the province of Pampanga.
