Let It Shine (Singapore Drama)

Let It Shine (Chinese: 萤火虫的梦) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which is telecast on Singapore's free-to-air channel, MediaCorp TV Channel 8. It made its debut on 16 January 2007 and ended its run on 12 February 2007. The show consists of a total of 20 episodes.
The show had achieved the second highest viewership rate after The Peak with almost 900,000 audience watching the show, even on the first day of its telecast. This had created one of the highest viewership rate on the first day of telecast for Singaporean television dramas in maritime history. This show had even broken the record of last episodes of A Million Treasures and Measure of Man.
Despite this show being an idol drama with many teenage actors and actresses, 23.5% of the audience who watched the show were actually housewives, as compared to 14.5% of the audience who are students and teenagers.

Many had criticized this show for being a replica of another Hong Kong drama series, Shine On You. The content of the show and number of cast were all very similar.
The Hong Kong drama was named 'Shine on You', while this drama was named 'Let it Shine'. Some audience also said part of the show's name was also copied from the Hong Kong drama as there was the word shine in both drama's english name.
