Les Baux de Provence AOC

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Les Baux de Provence is a wine AOC in the Provence region of France, near the town of Les Baux de Provence.

The majority of the wines are red, made from Grenache, Cinsaut, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. These can benefit from ageing. Rosé wines are also produced in much smaller quantities from the same grapes.

The wines are kept very disease free by the Mistral, and so has always had a large proportion of organic wine production, and is working on becoming the first entirely biodynamic appellation.
