Longnosed Worm Snake Leptotyphlops macrorhynchus is a species of worm snake found in Asia and parts of Africa.

Appearance similar to L. cairi. Leptotyphlops algeriensis Jaquet, 1895 has been considered a synonym of Leptotyphlops macrorhynchus (Hahn, 1980) or as a subspecies of L. macrorhynchus (Hahn & Wallach 1998). Leptotyphlops macrorhynchus bilmaensis Angel, 1936 has been synonymized with Leptotyphlops cairi by Hahn & Wallach 1998 (and has been listed as L. m. bilmaensis Barbour, 1914 by Schleich, Kaestle& Kabitsh 1996).

Turkey (West of Tigris through Adiyaman Province), Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Sinai, Israel Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Ghana, Guinea, Eritrea, possibly Cameroon, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Niger, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Oman, NW India, Pakistan
Race bilmaensis is found in the Niger.
