The Sultan fish, Leptobarbus hoeveni, is a fish species native to northern Malaysia, Thailand, and Borneo. It is a primarily freshwater fish. It may reach up to about 60 cm (24 in) long. This fish is omnivorous and is a midwater to near bottom dweller.
The Sultan fish is a common feature on the menu of many local Chinese restaurants as it makes for good eating.
