Leopoldo Minaya (Born November 15, 1963) is a Dominican poet. He is known as member of the important Generation of 1980 in the Dominican Republic.

  2001 Miguel de Cervantes Cultural Association Award, Barcelona, Spain.  He has been published by the Board of Education of Madrid, the Dominican Encyclopedic Dictionary and several international publishing firms.of Minaya has a doctorate degree in Law at the University of Santo Domingo and graduated studies in Urban Education at Mercy College, New York, USA.
