Leopold Poetsch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leopold Poetsch was a junior school history teacher noted for teaching Adolf Hitler. Hitler wrote a couple of sentences about Poetsch in Mein Kampf, speaking favourably of the man who he said taught German history with a great enthusiasm and passion.

It is perhaps important to note that Poetsch did not teach any form of racial theory to Hitler and it can be said that his influence on the future Hitler was very minor at most.

When Mein Kampf was first published, Hitler presented Poetsch with two handsomely bound copies, which Poetsch is said to have cherished in his later years.
