Leonardo Daniel Ponzio is an Argentine football Midfielder currently playing for CA River Plate in Argentina.
He started his career playing in the youth system at Newell's Old Boys in Rosario, Argentina. He was signed by Spanish side Real Zaragoza in 2003. He was transfered to River Plate the 16, February of 2007.
Ponzio has played for Argentina at under-17, under-20 and at full international level. He was part of the Argentina under-20 team that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2001.
Ponzio scored his first goal for River Plate vs. Chilean side Colo Colo, for the Copa Libertadores 2007.
