Leo Moser

Leo Moser (April 11, 1921February 9, 1970) was a mathematician, best known for his polygon notation.

Moser was born in Warsaw, Poland and with his parents emigrated to Canada in 1924. He received a B.Sc. at the University of Manitoba in 1943, and a M.Sc. at the University of Toronto in 1945. After two years of teaching he went to the University of North Carolina to complete a Ph.D. supervised by Alfred Brauer. There, in 1950, he suffered recurring heart problems. He recovered, took a position at Texas Technical College for one year, and joined the faculty at the University of Alberta in 1951, where he remained until his death.
