Len Rix

Len Rix is a translator of Hungarian literature, noted for his translations of Antal Szerb's Journey by Moonlight and The Pendragon Legend and of Magda Szabó's The Door.

Rix was born in Zimbabwe and studied English, French and Latin at Cambridge University. Before retiring in 2005, Rix was, for many years, a teacher of English at Manchester Grammar School, where he was also Head of Careers.

Rix's first translation was of Journey By Moonlight as a means of becoming self-taught in Hungarian and was published only several years later by Pushkin Press.
