Lehman Catholic High School

Lehman Catholic High School is a co-educational, comprehensive, Roman Catholic High School owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and located in Sidney, Ohio. The school history dates back to 1889 as Holy Angels High School, and the current school was named after Monsignor Edward C. Lehman during the 1970 consolidation of Holy Angels and Piqua Catholic High Schools. The Sisters of Charity have served the school since 1889. As of 2006, the school principal is Denise Stauffer.

Advanced Placement program in Calculus, English, Foreign Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Government; College-preparatory in all other subject areas for grades 9-12. The school has received several governor's awards for science, and is accredited by the North-Central Association of Colleges and Schools

Athletics play an integral role in the life of Lehman students (mascot: Cavaliers). The school fields 18 varsity sports including: Soccer (men's & women's), volleyball (women's), football, Tennis (men's & women's), Cross-Country (men's & women's), Basketball (men's & women's), Swimming/Diving (men's & women's), Track (men's & women's), Softball, Baseball, Wrestling, and Golf (men's). Athletics play an important role at Lehman, as Lehman has had many great football and volleyball teams over the 15 years up to 2006.[citation needed]

Athletic State Participants

  • 2000-2001: Volleyball state champions (30-0)
  • 2002-2003: Volleyball state runners-up
  • 2005-2006: Volleyball state champions (30-0), Golf state participants (5th in state), Cross Country State Participant, Track State Meet Participants,and women's swimming participant.[citation needed]

Lehman is known throughout the region and nation for its elite music program: Award-winning Lehman Limelighters Show Choir, Symphonic Choir, Women's Choir, Marching and Concert Bands, as well as several smaller competitive ensemble groups.[citation needed]
