Legislative districts of Zamboanga City

The current lone Legislative district of Zamboanga City is the representation of the City of Zamboanga in the Philippine House of Representatives. Zamboanga City was part of the representation of the Zamboanga Province from 1935 to 1953, of Zamboanga del Sur from 1953 to 1972 and of Region IX from 1978 to 1984. It was granted its own representation in 1984 by the Batasang Pambansa.
The legislative district of Zamboanga City will be divided into two districts in the 2007 elections in accordance with article VI, section V, part (3) of the Constitution and Republic Act No. 9269 as approved by the 12th Congress of the Philippines and signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on March 19, 2004.
The first legislative district of the City of Zamboanga will be represented in Congress for the following 37 barangays: Ayala, Bagong Calarian, Baliwasan, Baluno, Cabatangan, Camino Nuevo, Campo Islam, Canelar, Capisan, Cawit, Dulian (Upper Pasonanca), La Paz, Labuan, Limpapa, Maasin, Malagutay, Mariki, Pamucutan, Pasonanca, Patalon, Recodo, Rio Hondo, San Jose Cawa-Cawa, San Jose Gusu, San Roque, Sta. Barbara, Sta. Maria, Sto. Niño. Sinubung, Sinunuc, Talisayan, Tulungatung, Tumaga, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3 and Zone 4.
The second legislative district of the City of Zamboanga will be represented in Congress for the following 61 barangays: Arena Blanco, Boalan, Bolong, Buenavista, Bunguiao, Busay, Cabaluay, Cacao, Calabasa, Culianan, Curuan, Dita, Divisoria, Dulian (Upper Bunguiao), Guisao, Guiwan, Kasanyangan, Lamisahan, Landang Gua, Landang Laum, Lanzones, Lapakan, Latuan, Licomo, Limaong, Lubigan, Lumayang, Lumbangan, Lunzuran, Mampang, Manalipa, Mangusu, Manicahan, Mercedes, Muti, Pangapuyan, Panubigan, Pasilmanta, Pasobolong, Putik, Quiniput, Salaan, Sangali, Sta. Catalina, Sibulao, Tagasilay, Taguiti, Talabaan, Talon-Talon, Taluksangay, Tetuan, Tictapul, Tigbalabag, Tictabon, Tolosa, Tugbungan, Tumalutap, Tumitus, Victoria, Vitali and Zambowood.
