Legavrik

Legavrik (from Scottish Gaelic leth-gheamhradh - literally "half-winter") was the name of a season in Scotland. Variants include "legawreik".

Dwelly has it as being "the Winter half of the year - 1st November to 30th April.

"Legavrik" was also, more specifically, the name of one of the eight annual fairs of Inverness, held on 1st February. [1]
