Legananny is a townland 4 km (2.5 miles) north of Leitrim and 10 km (6 miles) from Castlewellan. It contains the ancient Dolmen which has stood for thousands of years. It is three large stones standing upright with a very large stone sitting on top of them. It borders four other townlands, these are: Benraw, Leitrim, Sleivenboly and Clonvaraghan. Legananny has a population of about 60 people, most of these being farmers. Slieve Garran is the main mountain in Legananny.
