Legambo

Legambo is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Wollo Zone, Legambo is bordered on the south by Kelala, on the southwest by Wegde, on the west by Debre Sina, on the northwest by Sayint, on the north by Tenta, on the northeast by Kutaber, on the east by Dessie Zuria, and on the southeast by Were Ilu. Towns and cities in Legambo include Akesta and Embacheber.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 215,541, of whom 110,777 were males and 104,764 were females; 7,418 or 3.44% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 12.4%. With an estimated area of 1,168.44 square kilometers, Legambo has an estimated population density of 184.5 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 173.56.[1]
