From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ledbury Road is situated near Notting Hill Gate and within the area known as Portobello (famous for its market on the Portobello Road). The road is intersected by Westbourne Grove.
It has a collection of fashionable shops and bars running down its length. Examples of these are "The Ledbury" (a restaurant patronised by, among others, Alan Rickman, Michael Winner, Lily Allen, Mike Skinner, Kate Moss, Ian McDiarmid and many other celebrities), the "Duchamp" shop who sell hand woven ties, socks and scarves (trading upon the fact that it never makes more than 1000 items in the same pattern with the same colour scheme) and the world famous Bleach Blank Babylon bar.
The road has appeared in many films, most notably Match Point and Notting Hill, and is often used for the purpose of filming TV street interviews owing to its glamourous reputation.
Famous inhabitants include Ian McDiarmid (Actor), Mike Atherton (former England Cricket captain) and Carol Wyatt (Artist).
The value of the residential properties in this road averages out at around £2.83 million.
