Lechnerds

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lechnerds are a group of people with a specific connection to Lechner Hall at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Most Lechnerds actually lived in Lechner Hall while attending the University, though an occasional "adoption" occurs for a non-resident with strong connections to the hall. Friendship is often forged on the couches of the 2nd floor. The origin of the term "Lechnerds" is likely a self-imposed and self-depricating play on words, as Lechner Hall is a dorm hall for academic scholarship recipients.

This friendship continues for many of the "Lekner X" group (Class of 2002) to this day in the form of Lechnerds Fantasy Sports. The Lechnerds participate in a wide range of fantasy sports including football, basketball and NCAA Pick 'Em. However, the Lechnerds Fantasy Sports participants hold their fantasy baseball league (hereafter, The League) as the core of their competitive spirit. Indeed, the Lechnerds have developed an eight article Constitution to govern The League.

Some members of the Lechnerds can be found waxing philosophical on the new fantasy sports website, Fantasy Sports Express.
