LECA

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate, also known as fired clay pebble and grow rocks or Hydrocorns, has a low thermal conductivity coefficient. That is, LECA has good heat insulation and is considered heatproof. It iss suitable for roof insulation and is ground damp proof. The #50-#150 aggregative concrete made from LECA is feasible and convenient for construction. Being a very light material, it is suitable as a support for elevated portions of flooring on existing slabs, because it will add very little extra weight onto the structure. It is also a good material for chimneys as inner walls, and for kilns and stoves as heatproof components. Without any alkaline and acid elements, the LECA can also be used in planting flowers and artificial hill display in gardens because of its mild nature.
