Leander High School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Leander High School is a secondary school in Leander, Texas and part of the Leander Independent School District. It was established in 1984.
The school has a freshmen enrollment of 700 students and is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Historically the school served a mainly rural population, but recently it has experienced explosive growth due to expansion of high tech industries in the nearby Austin area. As of 2006, the school principal is Mr. Todd Washburn.
The school's mascots are Leo the Lion and Leah the Lion. The school colors are blue, white, and red. Originally, the school's colors were simply blue and red, but this posed issues with home/visiting football games, where the opposing team would wear red as well as Leander. Because of this, Leander switched to simply Blue and White. The red was reintroduced in the late 90s as an accent color.
