Leaf mark and forehead protector (Japanese: 木ノ葉マークと額当て - Konoha māku to hitaiate) is episode 88 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Tsunade's Decision manga arc.

After passing stage one of the training which he learned by observing a cat playing with the water balloon, Naruto moves into stage two: power training. Jiraiya realizes that, like him, Naruto has a hard time concentrating, so he paints a spiral in the palm of Naruto's hand to help him to focus. Naruto has a flashback from his Ninja Academy days, which includes running out of the class room with Kiba while a class is still in session, snacking in class with Choji, and sleeping in class with Shikamaru.
Iruka-sensei then gives Naruto, Kiba, Choji, and Shikamaru a lecture and extra lesson about how they need to concentrate more. In the flashback, they all escape out of the window not long after, but with the help of Iruka's words, the present-time Naruto completes stage two. Meanwhile, Tsunade's luck is uncommonly good, which worries her. After being talked into sightseeing by her assistant, Tsunade meets Orochimaru...and she doesn't look at all pleased.

- About halfway into the episode, when Tsunade is at the slots machine, she gets three 7s in a row. When you see the slots symbols, you can see a leaf, a snake, a slug, and a toad. These are all references to the sannin.
- Naruto had no friends when he was growing up, so the Ninja Academy flashback might be a retcon on his part.
