Le Queen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Le Queen is one of the best known nightclubs in Paris, located on the famous avenue des Champs Elysées in Paris.
Once a gay nightclub, Queen was formerly known as "Le Boy" until its closing in early 1990. The golden age of the club was between 1993 and 1996; while entrance was extremely selective (Sandrine was the Physionomiste), it was in fact free on most nights (excluding Fridays and Saturdays). Mondays were, and still are, one of the most crowded evenings for the nightclub.
Many world famous DJs have taken the stage at Queen, including world renowned DJ Dimitri who helped popularize the club with a weekly club-night called Paris is Burning. This opened Le Queen up to a substantial heterosexual following, taking it from a Paris gay club to a Paris mega club.
Current resident DJs include Offer Nissim, Paul Van Dyk, Deep Dish, Lucy, KFK, and Michael Kaiser.
