Le Monde Illustré was a leading illustrated news magazine of the 19th century in France. Many of its highly realistic drawings were actually made from photographs, at a time when photographic reproduction in print was not technically feasible.

Le Monde Illustré is in many ways similar to the Illustrated London News.
