Le Bleu

Le Bleu is the third and most successful solo album by acoustic guitar virtuoso Justin King.
The name Le Bleu was the name of the street King lived on in his childhood, and thus was the inspiration for the album title. Released in 2001, it was only available on King's website, since he was not signed to a label at the time. The album consists of 19 tracks, one of which contains vocals by King (Ashes), and another being a violin solo (Ashokan Farewell) by King's close friend Lihn Renkin (who played in several of the tracks in King's previous two albums). The album is comprised of tracks which are all imbued with King's renowned percussive acoustic style which mixes elements of Flamenco, Jazz, Celtic, Classical and African music. Some of the tracks such as "Seville" and "Taps" involve the playing of the Tabla, played by childhood friend James West (who is ex-drummer for King's current band). The album was recorded at Blackberry Hill Studios, King's own studio in Oregon. King uses a variety of guitars in the album, from 7-strings to classical, steel strings to flamenco.
