LDC may be:

  • less developed country
  • Linguistic Data Consortium, a research institute associated with the University of Pennsylvania
  • Low-cost development center, used by companies such as Merrill Lynch
  • Local distribution company, the company that maintains the equipment and facilities for distributing natural gas or electric energy within a local region and delivering it to end-user customers. The competitive service provider who sells the gas or electricity and bills the customer may or may not be the LDC. The LDC is almost certainly not the pipeline company that transports natural gas from the wellhead or from a storage facility such as the hub at Henry, Louisiana.
