The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway B4 class was a class of 4-4-0 steam locomotives for express passenger work. They were designed by R. J. Billinton and were either built at Brighton works1899-1902 or else by Messrs Sharp, Stewart & Co. in 1901

The B4X class was built from 1922-1924. It was a rebuild (by L. B. Billinton) of the B4 class with larger cylinders and a superheater.

All examples were withdrawn from service between 1934 and 1951. None have survived.
