Layton Williams

Layton Williams is an English stage actor and one of the boys who plays the lead character of Billy Elliot in Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace theatre in London's West End, and is known to be the first black boy and the second non-caucasian (after Matthew Koon, who was born to Chinese parents), to play the part.[1][2]

Layton is from Wren Drive, Bury, Greater Manchester. He lives with his step dad, Curtis and his mother, Michelle. Layton has two brothers, Joshua and Regan, and one sister, Renee. He is a student at the St Paul’s Church of England Primary School, which allows him to do what he is interested in, namely, sports, dancing, and singing.[1][2][3]

Layton premiered in Billy Elliot the Musical on Monday 26th February 2007. Before coming to the Billy Elliot Academy in Leeds, which is the last audition step for boys who aspire to play Billy Elliot, Layton has also studied street dance and drama at Carol Godby's theatre workshop in Bury. He also studied ballet at Centre Pointe, Manchester.[1][2][3]
He appeared in the The New Paul O'Grady Show on May 25, 2006.
Layton has recently been awarded a scholarship to Sylvia Young Theatre School in Marylebone, London; one of Britiain's most celebrated centres for vocational training. his birthday is the 13th of september 1994.
