Lawrence Dial

Lawrence Dial (born in Rochester, New York) is a playwright.

The son of Barbara and David Dial, he was raised in Newburgh, Indiana, with his brother, lawyer Beau Dial, and, twin sisters, college students Mary and Charlotte. He graduated from the University of Evansville, where he met long-time collaborator and actress Kelli Giddish (All My Children, The Burg) and actor Joachim Boyle (director of the film Touch Me and the play Call Her ID).

His plays include: Slight Rebellion of Madison (again), The Word "Amazing" Comes To Mind, Fish Have No Eyelids, Kings Wait In Time; Aces Take Their Pick, Arts Fucking Crafts, The Fort, and A Horse and Duck. His most recent play, Old Kid Cod, will be performed at The American Theatre of Actors in late June 2007 starring Elan Moss-Bachrach and Lindsey Broad, and directed by Adam Knight.

Dial lives in New York's East Village with songwriter Alex Chappo.
