Lavasoft is a software developer often referred to as the "original" anti-spyware company. Its signature product, Ad-Aware, is used by 200 million computer users worldwide. There is a free, downloadable version called SE Personal, and three paid-for products called Plus, Professional and Enterprise. The company also offers the Lavasoft Personal Firewall.

Lavasoft's headquarters have been located in Gothenburg, Sweden since 2002. It was started in Germany in 1999 by Ad-Aware creator Nicolas Stark.

The company is run by CEO Ann-Christine Åkerlund, and creator Nicolas Stark is still a partner. Lavasoft is a private company with 4000 partners in over 120 countries around the world.
