Rutulian soldier that fought against Aeneas and the Trojans in Italy, killed by Aeneas in battle.

Son of Mezentius. He appears in Virgil's Aeneid in Books VII and X. He assists his father, taking a blow and saving his father while dying at the same time to the wrathful Aeneas. Mezentius is moved by his son's bravery and love, and calls for his horse, Rhaebus, to fight alongside him. The two ride forward, and both die to Aeneas. Mezentius' final wish is to be buried in the grave with his son.
