Lauri Pihkala

Lauri "Tahko" Pihkala (1888 – 1981) was the inventor of pesäpallo, Finnish variant of baseball. He also competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics in discus throw.
Pihkala was an avid sports fan, and developed several games. Pesäpallo is the best known of these. He became a professor in 1948.
