Laura Anne Jones

Laura Anne Jones (born February 21, 1979 in Newport, South Wales), is a Conservative member of the Welsh Assembly. She is also for the Conservative spokeswoman for Sport in the Assembly
The daughter of a farmer and a lecturer, she was brought up in Monmouthshire. She joined the Conservatives in 1996 and was involved in Conservative Future, the party's youth wing. She attended the University of Plymouth, where she studied politics.
Elected to the Assembly at the 2003 election to represent South Wales East, she is currently the youngest member of the Assembly. She is the Conservative's spokeswoman on sport, and sits on the Assembly's Culture, Sport and Welsh Language, and Local Government and Public Services committees.
Her profile was increased when she appeared on the UK-wide television programme Question Time in February, 2004.
