In a previous version of this template, the Late Period consisted of everything after Dynasty 25, minus the Romans. Egyptologists do not divide the periods in such a way. The Late Period is Dynasties 26–31. What falls after is the Graeco-Roman Period (the Macedonians [Alexander the Great and Alexander III], the Ptolemies, and the Romans). Since the Romans at least pretended to be Pharaohs, and Pharaonic civilisation was on-going under Roman rule, they should be included here as well. —Nefertum17 08:25, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)
